“Can’t allow the ego of Donald Trump to destroy our Strategic Relation with India” :US Congressman Ro Khanna

  • US Congressman Ro Khanna, one of the well-known Lawmakers in the country, called out US President Donald Trump who is currently not sparing a single gathering to talk about India. The Foreign Policy of Donald Trump has changed abruptly after his victory. He is more aggressive and Regressive in his policies. His MAGA (Make America Great Again) Mission seems to have hit rock bottom with people calling it “Make Asia Great Again” after India decided to rebuild its relationship with China, due to unfair tariffs imposed by the US.
  • Ro Khanna said Trump is hurting India’s Industries like Textiles as well as hurting the American manufacturers due to the illogical imposition of high tariffs. He also echoed the concerns of several former diplomats and ministers who have raised concern over the ruined India-US relation that took almost 30 years to rebuild.

  • He also said that the tariffs imposed on India are one of the highest in the world, which is not even imposed over the countries that have strained relations with the US such as China and Brazil. The policies of the current administration is driving India towards US’s Rival nations such as China and Russia even more.
  • “Trump is destroying 30 years of bipartisan work to build the US-India strategic partnership because Modi refuses to nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize. He imposed higher tariffs of 50% on India than China," he said.
  • "Prime Minister Modi refused to nominate Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize, while Pakistan did. And India has said that the border dispute with Pakistan is an internal matter, refusing to give Donald Trump credit," He said in a video.
  • "We can't allow the ego of Donald Trump to destroy a strategic relationship with India that is key to ensuring that America leads and not China. To all those Indian Americans who voted for Donald Trump, I'm asking you, where are you today while he destroys this relationship?" He urged.

Donald Trump has repeatedly altered his justification for imposing one of the highest tariffs on the nation whose Prime Minister was once his closest friend as he claimed on many occasions from organizing howdy modi to pulling out a chair, he has done it all. The sudden change in his policies doesn’t make sense to many but some call it the revelation of his true business minded governance.
