Vice President and oil minister of Venezuela sworn in as the interim President of Venezuela after Nicolas Maduro and his wife were kidnapped and flown out of the country as they charged them with Narco-terrorism and drug trafficking into the American soil. Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez is a Venezuelan Lawyer, Diplomat and Politician. She was born on 18 May 1969 (age 56) in Caracas, Venezuela. She commenced her career in 2003, and her political party is the United Socialist. She became the Vice President on 14 June 2018, appointed by Nicolas Maduro. She attended high-profile international events and gatherings on his behalf. On January 5, 2026, she became the interim president of Venezuela.

Her response to U.S military action

Delcy Rodríguez condemned the action by the U.S military and demanded proof of life of Nicolas Maduro and his wife, who were kidnapped and flown out of the country. She called the operation "Violation of Venezuelan sovereignty". After swearing in, she seemingly addressed Willingness to cooperate with the U.S.
