In the official meeting, the leaders reflected on the ongoing projects between the two, such as India-Maldives Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’, implemented at the time Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited India in October 2024.
The meeting also followed the track of progress of several other projects. The talks resulted fruitfully as they held conversation on climate change, disaster risk reduction and weather science, as the global south partners.
After a series of his anti-india rhetoric, he seems to have changed his political stance and tilting towards India diplomatically, despite his cabinet’s past remarks mocking Indian traditions.
