Early Life

• C.P Radhakrishnan was born on 4 May 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu to Father C.K.Ponnusamy and Mother K.Janaki.
• He was associated with the Right wing Volunteer organisation Rastriya Swayamseva Sangh (RSS) from the age of 16.
• He became a part of the Political Party Bharatiya Janata Party.
• Completed Graduation in Bachelor of Business Administration from V.O.Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu.

Career

• In 1974, He became a Member of Jan Sangh’s state executive committee.
•  In 1998, Radhakrishnan won the seat of Coimbatore by the margin of 150,000 and became one of the three BJP Candidates to win from Tamil Nadu.
•  He was one of the MPs to represent in the United Nations, He addressed the 58th session of the UN General Assembly on 20 October 2003.
• Appointed as the state president of BJP(2004-2006), carried out rath yatra for 93 days in the state and raised awareness concerning casteism,terrorism and such issues.
• Radhakrishnan was arrested in Mettupalayam while protesting against the ones who molested RSS activist.
• In 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, He was the BJP’s pick from the Coimbatore Constituency, from which he was defeated by a narrow margin.
• He became the Chairman of the Coir Board of India from 2016 to 2020.
• He was Appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand in 2023.
• Assumed the post of Governor of Telangana in 2024 and also became the lieutenant of Puducherry.
• Currently, He is serving as the Governor of Maharashtra since July 2024.
