Early Life and Work

Taapsee Pannu was born into a Jat-Sikh Family. Her Father is a retired real estate agent and her Mother a Homemaker. Her family lived in shakti nagar, delhi In 1984 they were targeted in Anti-Sikh Riots But found refuge in a hindu neighbour’s home. She studied computer science and Engineering at the guru gobind singh Indrapratha University, Hari Nagar.

She worked as a Software engineer before becoming a full time model. She auditioned for Channel V’s 2008 Talent Show Get Gorgeous, and got selected. Pannu Started doing commercials. In 2008 She Participated in Femina Miss India where she got titles of “fresh face” and “Miss beautiful skin”. She Bagged Brand Endorsement such as Reliance Trends, Motorola, Coco-cola, Airtel, PVR cinemas,World Gold council,Havells,Dabur, vardhman and Standard Chartered Bank. Later she decided to quit the field as she felt her efforts were not fruitful.

Acting Debut

She made her Acting Debut (2010) in the Telugu Film Industry With K Raghavendra Rao’s Romantic Musical Jhummandi Naadam.
She made her debut into the Tamil Industry with Aadukalam released in (2011) Role played opposite Dhanush. The movie received six national film awards at 58th National Film Awards. She did Vastadu Naa Raju (2011) a telugu movie opposite Vishnu Manchu. She made her Malayalam debut in 2011 itself with doubles alongside Mammotty and nadiya moidu.

She continued to do films in the south with Mr. Perfect (2011), Veera (2011), Vandhan Vendraan (2011), Mogudu,Gundello Godari,Daruvu and Shadow. All her movies commercially failed later on.

Bollywood Debut and Recognition

In 2013, she made her Bollywood Debut with David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor alongside Siddharth and Ali Zafar , Neeraj Pandey’s spy thriller baby (2015) She kept in her feet in the southern film industry as well with big-budget Arrambam and horror comedy Muni 3.
