Holi is a festival of colors and on this day a lot of colors are played. But, just as there is a flood of adulterated sweets in the market at the time of Diwali, in the same way adulterated colors are sold in full swing at the time of Holi. Glass, chemicals, sand, sand and soil etc. are also mixed in these colors, which not only cause skin allergies, but also cause scratches and cuts on the skin.

In such a situation, it becomes very important to identify real and fake colors, especially when there are small children in the house who play with these colors.

How to identify real and fake colors of Holi

Color does not come out
First try applying gulal or wet colors on a small part of the hands. After keeping it for 10 to 15 minutes, try to get rid of this color by washing it with plain water. If the color does not go away even after leaving it for a long time and remains as it is, then there is a possibility that the color is not real or organic because organic colors leave quickly.

Packaging
The packaging of original colors is also usually original with all the instructions written on it. Check the packaging to see that it is not mutilated or looks like the packaging has been tampered with. If there is tampering, the possibility of adulteration can be 100%.

Read the Label
When you look at the label of a product, you come to know such things which you would hardly have noticed before. Look at the label to see what color ingredients are written, what is the date of its manufacture and how long it can be used. Along with this, it is also important to see which company the color belongs to. If there is any such substance or chemical in the colored material which can prove to be bad for the skin, then avoid using it.

Test with water
If you do not want to do the test by applying it on the skin, then it can be seen by doing the water test. To test colors in water, dissolve one teaspoon of color in water. If the color dissolves completely in water, then the color is natural and if not, then the color is chemical or adulterated. Apart from this, even after cleaning the utensil, the natural colors will be washed off easily, whereas it may take a lot of struggle to get rid of the chemical colors.

If you see shiny pieces
If shiny pieces start appearing in the color, then it may be that glass has been adulterated in it. When the glass is adulterated, its pieces start shining. These pieces are very harsh on the skin and due to allergies on the skin, the skin may become excessively red.

Price
Generally, natural colors are expensive and the prices of local chemical colors are less. The materials used to make good colors are usually expensive. That’s don’t buy cheap and skin-harming colors (Gulal) in order to save money.

Happy Holi 2023 and take care of your skin in Holi.
