Tesla CEO Elon musk backs a tech start up CEO who decides to quit instagram, he has always expressed thoughts about instagram being projecting predatory features and violating privacy of the users. 

“Time to be a Man” CEO quits Instagram 

A tech Startup CEO with account name spor declared that he is deleting his instagram account not just the installing the app. He continues to say that it is the time to be a man. The post gained a lot of attention with 33.9 Million views which also caught the eyes of The Tesla CEO and the richest man in the world Elon Musk. 

He backed the move made by the tech startup CEO. He moves well aligns with Elon's thoughts on instagram as a social media app. He has expressed his disapproval over the functioning of the application, with absolute discrepancies in protecting minors and and lack of privacy concerns.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk Appreciates the Decision 

Elon Musk has always expressed his disapproval of the app and the tech CEO's move was something Elon Musk has been speaking about for a long time. He Shared the post on X account and Commented “This is the way” 

Musk previously accused the platform of compromising with the user’s privacy, lack of appropriate measures and manipulative algorithm to garner as many views as possible for revenue. According to him, Instagram is not a good social media platform and resorts to unfair tactics to popularize itself with every new feature. 

In a podcast he spoke about his take on instagram after using it himself 
“I Think Maybe particularly instagram people look like they have a much better life than they really do people are posting pictures of when they are really happy they are modifying those pictures to be better looking they are selecting the best lighting best angle, they may look happy but they are not happy they are depressed they are really sad” 

In another podcast he was asked if he has a secret IG account to which he said of course, which he used to follow up links and he found himself taking selfies to which he disgusted over. 

Previous criticism from celebrities and Government measures 

Not just elon musk but many government and celebrities have expressed their thoughts on Instagram like Popstar and actress Selena Gomez who revealed instagram gave her severe anxiety and only uses it from a friend’s account for business,

 Singer ed sheeran spoke of the superficiality spread over the app which made him conscious of himself. Actress Jennifer Lawrence said she hates the idea of using such a platform and can’t even stand the thought of making videos on it. 

The United Kingdom and European Union put up child safety measures such as  hiding likes for under 18s, restricting autoplay and collection of data. 
Australia has proposed strict laws around certain ages using social media in order to protect them from unwanted age inappropriate content .
