Delhi Bomber Dr. Umar justifies Suicide bombing as “Martyrdom”, old video resurfaces

In a viral video, Umar, the Delhi bomber, explains what he perceives of suicide bombing, which is apparently banned in Islam, as “Martyrdom.” The video exhibits Umar’s English-speaking skills, which he spoke with an accent. The video challenge thinkers who believe education plays a role in curbing terrorism, but it has seemingly only emboldened them.

“Never fear death,” Delhi Bomber Umar’s chilling video

  • The Delhi Bomber, Umar, a doctor who worked at Al-Falah Medical College, killed 15 and injured 30 innocent people so he could claim “martyrdom”, made a video of himself speaking about “Suicide Bombing”. People are surprised how a well-educated man could use his skills to propagate terrorism and justify homicide. He was indoctrinated into believing how brave it is to kill others and die yourself.
  • He constantly looked away while recording the video and took minutes to utter a single line. He briefly spoke about how one must not fear death, as it is destined to happen. He says, "Martyrdom is a process in which a person presumes that he is going to die at a particular place and time. Umar also says that no one can predict exactly when or where they will die".
  • The viral video says, “One of the very misunderstood concepts is the concept of what has been labelled as suicide bombing. It is a martyrdom operation…known in Islam. Now, there are multiple contradictions; there are multiple arguments that have been brought against it.” The suicide bomber equates it with “Martyrdom” and explains further.
  • What the video showed was terrifying as he worked as a medical doctor carrying these violent extremist thoughts. Many political thinkers cited these radical thoughts as the main reason for the rise in these terrorist attacks worldwide. The white collar terrorism module that was busted in Faridabad challenges these thoughts because access to modern education has only empowered these extremists to find new ways to create chaos in society.
  • Terrorism is not only perpetrated with guns and bombs these days, but they have also heavily relied on science and psychology. Ammonium nitrate was found in the raid carried out by the inter-state police, which shows how access to modern knowledge has resulted negatively. Al-Falah University, situated in Faridabad, has lost its credibility due to harbouring national traitors.
  • The university also received international funding mainly from Muslim nations, and the seats were mostly reserved for Muslim students in a secular nation. The enrollment process has also been questioned. The university will most likely lose functionality because D Umar Un Nabi, who practised at the university, was not the only terrorist caught. Several other doctors were arrested, including Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr. Shaheen Shahid.
