• At the commissioning event of INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri on 26th August 2025 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi addressed the gathering. He said
• “Today I want to say that udaygiri and himgiri are Modern and state- of -art platforms which will be instrumental to deliver a knock out punch to the enemy. On this occasion, I would like to remember PM Modi’s words who said that the fundamental principle of safety is that you must have your own unique and customized systems. It is a matter of pride that Udaygiri and Himgiri are designed by the Indian Navy and are 100th and 101st Ships, Made with Indigenous content.”

• According to ANI “ In this era of uncertainties and competition, the Indian Navy's capability to deliver an overwhelming force at sea is a credible deterrence against India's enemies. We demonstrated it well during Operation Sindoor. The swift deployment and aggressive posturing of our units held the Pakistan Navy captive in a way and forced them to request us to end kinetic actions.” He said.
• Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said “these frigates, which will enhance the capability of the Indian Navy, send a message that India is fully capable of protecting its maritime borders and is ready to respond immediately to any challenge or situation.”
• “The induction of INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri not only strengthens the Indian Navy’s combat potential but reinforces its role as a “First Responder” and “Preferred Security Partner” in the Indian Ocean Region.” He said.
