Heavy rain on the evening of July 28 and the morning of July 29 creates inconvenience for the commuters.
Since the commuting hours have been disrupted, social media users have shared their thoughts while criticizing the authorities adversely. Pictures clicked from various parts have shown alarmingly high levels of water rising, with people crossing roads drenched.
Vehicles clustered at a particular place due to waterlogging and the inability to spot potholes.
The Indian Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain within the next 1-2 hours and moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in Delhi till August 3. IMD issued a weather alert till noon today.
According to IMD, Delhi received 8 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.
“Intense to very intense spells of rain are very likely to continue over many parts of Delhi & NCR during the next 1-2 hours,” said IMD at 9 am.
In the southwest and southeast regions, a “YELLOW” alert has been issued, comparatively safer zones than the north.

Several flights have been interrupted due to humid weather and thunderstorms. Air India and Indigo have issued travel advisories. “Gusty wind and rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi this morning. Please check your flight status before heading to the airport and allow extra time for your journey," Air India posted
As torrential rain pours in, underpasses, waterlogged areas, and heavy traffic must be avoided to be on the safer side.
