TMC protests outside HM Amit Shah's office, Mahua Moitra and several others detained by Delhi police

TMC MPs staged a protest outside the office of Amit Shah, and they were Derek O'Brien, Satabdi Roy, Mahua Moitra, Bapi Haldar, Saket Gokhale, Pratima Mondal, Kirti Azad and Sharmila Sarkar.

TMC stages protest in Delhi after I-PAC raid by ED

Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out a raid in the Political consultancy I-PAC, which has been assisting TMC after the 2019 polls. ED raided the I-PAC office and the residence of Pratik Jain, who is the Chief. Mamata Banerjee rushed to the residence of Pratik Jain, accompanied by the Kolkata Police, to stop the raid. The accused Amit Shah used ED, which is a central agency, to retrieve confidential party documents such as the candidate list, hard drives, party strategy and party plan.

She even visited the office of I-PAC and stayed there for 45 minutes. She said Amit Shah is incapable of protecting the country, and he is nasty. She also said that the entire raid is unconstitutional, but ED released a statement saying the raid was carried out as a response to the FIR lodged in 2020 against Anup Majee, in an attempt to bust an illegal coal mining syndicate. 6 places in West Bengal and 4 premises in Delhi were to be raided.

TMC MPs said they were asked to evacuate when they were holding peaceful protests outside the office of Home Minister Amit Shah. Several clips have emerged online where Mahua Moitra was removed from the spot and shouted "TMC will win" and "Shame Shame". TMC MPs were holding placards that said “Bengal is unmasking Modi–Shah’s dirty political games".

In West Bengal Mamata Banerjee is not remaining passive and organized a protest march in Kolkata on 9 January, along with her party workers and galvanised a huge gathering along the way, it showed her might and popularity.
